I download music all the time. Sometimes I buy if from the iTunes store, othertimes I use one of the free online music sharing websites.
At one point I looked into buying songs from other vendors and online sites, but for the most part, I have found that I don't need to expend all that much effort. I cannot really think of even one time that the iTunes store didn't have what I wanted to purchase. Years ago, I used to use Napster, but that was when it was free!!!
On occasion I will listen to some music from a radio station on my computer. Sometimes if I am in a room without my iPod speakers I will listen to 99.1 or something like that.
